The Social Media Coordinator will develop and execute social media strategies for the Sheldon Museum at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, engaging diverse audiences with exhibitions, collections, and programs. This role drives audience growth, shapes public perception, and attracts new museum stakeholders through strategic content creation and analytics-driven engagement.
Key Responsibilities: Develop social media strategies across multiple platforms, create relevant and trending content, monitor analytics to track engagement goals, and identify opportunities to integrate trending hashtags and topics into the museum brand.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation, strong understanding of social media analytics and trends, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to develop strategic engagement strategies.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field preferred; demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for organizations or institutions.

Compensation: $32K–$45K/yr (estimated)

The person in this position will develop strategies to grow social media engagement, influence public perception, and attract new museum stakeholders. The social media coordinator will follow social trends to create relevant and interesting content across multiple platforms. They will monitor trending hashtags and topics, finding unique ways to integrate them into the museum brand, and track analytics to gauge success towards engagement goals.
