Additional responsibilities include managing medical documentation, coordinating with physicians and specialists, assisting with emergency protocols, promoting injury prevention education, and supporting event medical operations.
Skills & Tools: Required skills include excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, adaptability in fast-paced environments, clinical assessment and rehabilitation expertise, and strong organizational capabilities for medical documentation and coordination.
Qualifications: Candidate must hold appropriate athletic training certification (BOC) and medical licensure. Experience working in collegiate or university athletics settings is expected.

Compensation: $45K–$65K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

UK HealthCare Sports Medicine is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Athletic Trainer assigned to Kentucky State University.

As an Athletic Trainer assigned to Kentucky State University, your primary focus will be the daily medical coverage, injury prevention, assessment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning for athletes within the university’s athletics system.

You’ll act as a liaison between players, coaches, and healthcare professionals to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of athletes.

Additional duties include:
• Managing medical documentation and injury tracking.
• Coordinating with UK HealthCare’s physicians and rehabilitation specialists for athlete referrals.
• Assisting with emergency planning and response protocols at training and match facilities.
• Promoting education and awareness regarding injury prevention and performance optimization.
• Supporting event coverage and medical operations for events and teams as needed.
