Summary

This position is responsible for the preparation of the monthly internal financial statements and the quarterly and annual SEC filings. The Financial Reporting Manager is also responsible for the accounting of share-based awards and leases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare SEC filings such as 10-Qs and 10-Ks, including MD&A, footnote disclosures and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare the monthly balance sheet, cash flow statement, and statement of stockholders’ equity.
  • Oversee the accounting for share-based awards and assist with stock plan administration.
  • Oversee the accounting for leases.
  • Compile and analyze data to prepare journal entries for various accounts and transactions.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including independently identifying and resolving reconciling items.
  • Perform technical accounting research for new transactions as needed.
  • Monitor FASB and SEC activity to determine potential impacts of proposed guidance and regulations, and assist in implementation of new GAAP guidance.
  • Prepare the financial information reported to external regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Assist with requests related to internal and external audits and work with auditors to resolve audit questions.
  • Ensure SOX compliance and maintain related controls documentation.
  • Independently communicate with other company personnel and contacts outside of the company to gather needed information and/or resolve issues.
  • Review existing policies and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement and help to implement approved changes.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with accounting and reporting software (Oracle/Peoplesoft financials and Workiva are a plus).
  • Experience with applying internal controls compliant with SOX regulations.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work extra hours during quarter-end close cycle.

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience specifically in technical accounting and financial reporting.
  • Public accounting experience preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution

Certificates, licenses and registrations:

  • CPA preferred

Other:

  • Travel via plane, car, and public transportation may be required in limited circumstances to perform this job.
