Summary

The Professional Learning Specialist delivers engaging training experiences to customers through live webinars, virtual sessions, and in-person events while developing and enhancing learning content for an educational technology SaaS company.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver interactive training sessions (virtual and in-person), create engaging learning content, collaborate with internal teams on curriculum development, evaluate training effectiveness, and provide customer support and follow-up assistance.
Skills & Tools: Strong facilitation and presentation skills for delivering live training, excellent written and verbal communication, proficiency with virtual learning platforms (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet) and LMS, with desirable experience in instructional design tools like Articulate Storyline and Camtasia.
Qualifications: 3+ years of professional learning or training delivery experience, preferably in educational technology or SaaS environments; bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, instructional design, or related field is desirable.
Location: Huron, Ohio, United States (35% travel required)
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $55,000 – $75,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

About the role

The Professional Learning Specialist will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive training experiences to our customers via live webinars, virtual training sessions and in-person events. This role also includes the opportunity to assist in developing and enhancing learning content and Professional Learning (PL) experiences to ensure that customers are effectively supported in their journey to implement and use our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for education, the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, and a talent for creating a positive, engaging learning environment. This position requires travel (35% of the time) to attend in-person customer training events, team events, or conferences.


Main Responsibilities 

  • Deliver live (virtual or in-person), interactive webinars, training sessions, and workshops to customers, ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to effectively implement and use our products.
  • Create an engaging and interactive learning environment by utilizing a variety of instructional methods, including demonstrations, Q&A, discussions, and hands-on activities.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of training content, including course materials, video tutorials, and product documentation, to ensure consistency and relevance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather insights and feedback on customer needs, helping to shape the direction of training content and customer learning experiences.
  • Provide on-demand and just-in-time learning experiences, ensuring customers can access relevant training and resources when needed.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions, gathering customer feedback and utilizing data to continuously improve training delivery and content.
  • Support customers with follow-up assistance and troubleshooting related to the training topics covered in the sessions, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with the development and enhancement of overall Professional Learning experiences, identifying areas of opportunity for process improvements or new offerings.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure training is aligned with customer needs, product updates, and strategic business goals.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in instructional design, educational technology, and adult learning to bring fresh ideas to training initiatives.

Essential Criteria 

  • 3+ years of experience in delivering professional learning or training, preferably within an educational technology or SaaS environment.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with experience delivering live, interactive webinars, virtual training, and group workshops.
  • Ability to create engaging and interactive learning content that caters to various learning styles and meets customer needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear and relatable way.
  • Experience using virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • A customer-centric mindset with a passion for helping customers achieve their goals through learning.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in instructional design or content development, with familiarity in using tools like Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, or Adobe Captivate.
  • Familiarity with the education sector, particularly K-12 or higher education, and an understanding of the unique challenges educators and administrators face.
  • Experience in developing self-paced learning materials, such as e-learning courses, videos, or resource guides.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, instructional design, or a related field.
