Summary

Swim instructor role with Togetherhood, a marketplace for independent enrichment providers, teaching swimming skills to elementary school students across New York City. Key Responsibilities: Create and deliver swim lessons that balance skill-building with engaging gameplay, pick up and supervise students during class, manage group behavior in a safe manner, and handle student dismissal to approved guardians. Arrive on time, set up instruction areas, and foster a positive class community that develops students' love for swimming.

Skills & Tools: Strong teaching and coaching abilities with experience leading independent classes, excellent classroom management and communication skills, passion for youth education and personal development, and the ability to create positive relationships with students. Must be cooperative, flexible, and demonstrate strong work ethic with a can-do attitude.

Qualifications: Experienced swim instructor or coach with demonstrable experience teaching school-age children, plus ability to manage groups independently. Requires at least three professional references and enthusiasm for youth enrichment.

What You'll Do

You will be matched with opportunities to coach basketball at elementary school students at schools, buildings and communities across New York City. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks. In this role, you'll have the following responsibilities:

Consistently arrive on location on time to get set up to teach your class
Create lessons and practices that blend skill-building and gameplay
Pick up the children from their teachers and be responsible for them throughout the class
Manage the group of students, ensuring that they all behave in a safe and respectful manner
Handle pick up of the students by their parents. Ensure that children are only released to people approved to pick the child up.
Help children develop a deep love for the beautiful game

Who You Are

Fun, enthusiastic, experienced baseball coach, with deep experience teaching school age children.
Able to create positive class community and build relationships with students
Experience leading your own classes
Has excitement, joy and passion for teaching kids and personal development/learning
Cooperative, supportive, flexible
Has a strong work ethic and do whatever it takes mind set
