Summary

After School Classroom Assistant supporting enrichment instructors at schools and community centers across Boston. Assist instructors in delivering engaging classes ranging from arts & crafts to STEM while creating positive learning experiences for students.

Key Responsibilities: Assist the primary classroom instructor in facilitating engaging classes during 1-2 hour shifts at various Boston schools and community spaces. Maintain consistent punctuality, support positive classroom community, and help create memorable experiences for students.
Skills & Tools: Strong ability to build positive relationships with students and create supportive classroom environments. Excellent communication, flexibility, cooperation, and a proactive work ethic are essential.
Qualifications: At least two professional references required; relevant experience working with children preferred but not required. Formal teaching experience not necessary if other relevant training or experience with youth is demonstrated.
Location: In-Person - Boston, MA
Compensation: $28K–$38K/yr (estimated)

We’ve built an incredible network of over 400 teachers, coaches, and instructors in New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Now Togetherhood is coming to Boston, and we’re looking for amazing instructors who are seeking flexible, good-paying, supplemental work, and are excited about having the freedom to use their own lesson plans and curriculum.

What You'll Do

You will be matched with opportunities to be a classroom assistant for 1-2 hour shifts at schools, buildings and communities across Boston. These classroom assisting opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks. In this role, you'll have the following responsibilities:

  • Assist the primary classroom instructor in facilitating a great class
  • Consistently arrive at your class on time (or early!)
  • Create memorable experiences for the children in your classrooms

Who You Are

  • Able to create positive class community and build relationships with students
  • Has excitement, joy and passion for teaching kids and personal development/learning
  • Cooperative, supportive, flexible
  • Has a strong work ethic and do whatever it takes mind set
  • At least two references
