Summary

Togetherhood is seeking Teaching Artists to deliver after-school enrichment programs for K-12 students across Boston. Instructors will create and lead age-appropriate curricula in subjects ranging from arts & crafts to STEM, earning flexible hourly pay with full autonomy over lesson design.

Key Responsibilities: Create and deliver age-appropriate curriculum for after-school classes lasting 6-18 weeks, consistently arriving prepared with daily lesson plans. Build memorable learning experiences that foster student passion for the subject while helping children understand the relevance and value of the material.
Skills & Tools: Strong teaching ability with experience engaging school-age children in a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment. Excellent communication, adaptability, reliability, and creativity combined with the ability to work autonomously while appreciating clear expectations and support.
Qualifications: Experience teaching school-age children, either in formal teaching roles or through relevant training and experience (cover letter or application questionnaire can demonstrate alternative background). New teachers interested in assistant positions are encouraged to apply.

We’ve built an incredible network of over 400 teachers, coaches, and instructors in New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Now Togetherhood is coming to Boston, and we’re looking for amazing instructors who are seeking flexible, good-paying, supplemental work, and are excited about having the freedom to use their own lesson plans and curriculum.

What You'll Do

As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across Boston. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks. As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities:

  • Conceive of and create an age-appropriate curriculum for your class
  • Create memorable experience for the children in your class to help them grow and develop a passion for your subject
  • Consistently arrive at your class on time (or early!), prepared with the lesson plan for the day
  • Help children understand why your class subject is so wonderful and how it's helped shape you as a person
  • Togetherhood instructors earn $80 - $120 for each one hour class
