Location: This position is based in the United States and may require occasional travel.
Compensation: $54500 - $81900 / Annually
We are seeking a Staff Accountant, Fixed Assets to join our accounting team. This position will report to the Associate Manager, Fixed Assets. The Staff Accountant works on fixed asset accounting across multiple domestic and international business units. The ideal candidate for this role will have proficiency in accounting, some experience with fixed assets and related management systems, and an analytical mindset. We are looking for someone who is a fast learner with a strong work ethic, and ready to make a significant impact in a highly dynamic environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Works on monthly close related to fixed assets, including journal entries for depreciation, WIP, and impairments.
- Assists with monthly and quarterly roll forward schedules and variance analyses.
- Gathers and maintains information on work-in-progress assets, including internally developed software, asset impairments, and asset retirement obligation balances.
- Helps to prepare monthly cash flow deliverables and various ad hoc reports.
- Generates fixed asset accounting inputs to SEC and other regulatory filings.
- Assists with requests related to internal and external audits and tax filings.
- Helps maintain fixed asset policy documentation.
- Performs and documents SOX controls for fixed assets.
- Reviews existing processes identifies opportunities for improvement and helps to implement approved changes.
Job Skills
- Experience with Peoplesoft asset management system preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Familiarity with internal control concepts and processes related to fixed assets.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and fulfill responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills using advanced formulas in Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
Work Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience with full-cycle fixed asset accounting.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a regionally accredited institution.
Certificates, Licenses, And Registrations
- CPA preferred but not required.
Other
- Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro.
