Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred), 3+ years in accounting, strong skills in Excel and general ledger systems, and experience with nonprofit or public-sector environments.
Qualifications: Preferred CPA and experience with Oracle NetSuite; strong collaboration and communication skills required.
Location: United States with up to 10% travel required for meetings.
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $70,000 - $90,000.

As a mission-driven early childhood education organization, we are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant II to help us deliver accurate, timely, and mission-aligned financials across our business units and delegate programs.
About the Role:
In this critical finance role, you’ll prepare monthly financial statements, reconcile accounts, and support financial audits—ensuring compliance, accuracy, and clarity in our reporting. You’ll work closely with delegate leaders and the Controller and may also lead and mentor junior accountants on the team.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare monthly accrual-based closing entries and financial statements for one or more business units or delegate programs.
- Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts monthly; flag and resolve discrepancies.
- Analyze and allocate costs by funding source/department using contract codes.
- Draft and review trial balances and financial statements; lead monthly financial reviews with delegate leadership.
- Support year-end audits by preparing schedules and documentation for external auditors.
- Supervise and develop direct reports, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and trainings, and support budgeting and state reimbursement documentation as needed.
Who You Are:
- A highly organized and dependable accounting professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred).
- Experienced with 3+ years in general accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting—ideally with exposure to nonprofit or public-sector environments.
- Technically skilled in Excel and general ledger systems; experience with Oracle NetSuite is a plus.
- A strong communicator who thrives in collaborative, mission-driven environments.
- Self-motivated and resourceful, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
Additional Requirements:
- Background check and physical exam required.
- Travel up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.
