Key Responsibilities: Perform QA reviews on ebook files, create and maintain ebook metadata, manage ebook production tasks including file corrections and vendor updates, source files for print-on-demand titles, and execute weekly ebook title reports.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite, comfort with databases and spreadsheets, meticulous attention to detail, strong prioritization abilities, and capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. 0-1 years of experience preferred.

Job Description

Reporting to Macmillan’s Senior Manager, Digital Production, this position will support our ebook and print-on-demand production teams. They be responsible for checking Macmillan’s trade ebook files for errors, putting select titles and updates into production, maintaining our metadata, and ensuring that our deadlines are met. They will also support our print-on-demand program through file sourcing and metadata management. The person hired will be part of an exciting team that manages the full range of digital content operations. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and deadline-conscious, and who can prioritize responsibilities in a busy department.

What you'll do:

  • Perform QA (Quality Assurance) reviews on a large volume of ebook files
  • Create, monitor, and maintain ebook metadata
  • Perform various tasks related to ebook production, including correcting ebook files, sending file updates to our vendors, maintaining the integrity of metadata, and managing and executing a suite of weekly ebook title reports
  • Ensure that ebook conversion deadlines are met each week
  • Source files from internal systems for print-on-demand titles
  • Create and maintain metadata for print-on-demand titles

What you'll bring:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
  • Comfort with databases, reporting, and spreadsheets
  • Extremely detail oriented and precise
  • Prioritizes effectively and asks questions when needed
  • Must be able to work meticulously with little supervision

Ideal experience/education:

  • 0-1 years experience
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

This is a contracted position. The successful candidate will be employed through Headway Workforce Solutions at $25/hour.
