Summary

City Year seeks a Campus Recruiter to cultivate a talent pool of AmeriCorps members from local college campuses in Tulsa, Oklahoma, engaging and supporting candidates through the application process while representing the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute recruitment strategies to engage students and alumni from designated college portfolios through presentations, tabling events, and career fairs. Build and manage candidate pipelines, conduct 1:1 informational meetings, and guide candidates through the application and interview process while serving as a champion of inclusion.
Skills & Tools: Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and experience with CRM systems. Demonstrated relationship-building abilities and proficiency in direct outreach and candidate engagement.
Qualifications: Experience in recruitment, program coordination, educational or nonprofit sectors preferred. Passion for national service and demonstrated ability to build relationships with campus partners and stakeholders; valid Driver's License required due to travel requirements.
Location: Hybrid in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States (2-3 days per week on campus, remainder hybrid work from home and City Year office)

Position Overview

Campus Recruiters are responsible for generating interest and cultivating a pool of candidates within their designated portfolios to apply to serve as AmeriCorps members. As Campus Recruiters, you will represent City Year’s mission to prospective candidates, building strong relationships with all students, campus leaders, and other stakeholders. You will play a critical role in creating pipelines of talent by developing and executing recruitment strategies, supporting candidates through the application process, and fostering a commitment to national service.

Campus Recruiters are location based and work within the Corps Talent Acquisition Campus Recruitment Channel, reporting to a Campus Recruitment Director. Each recruiter’s portfolio contains 10+ college campuses that focus on the highest producing historical schools and are proximate to the local City Year site.

This position is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Campus Recruiters prioritize being on campus 2-3 days per week to develop a deep network of on campus relationships as well as to generate leads and applicants through direct outreach. Ability to work from home and the City Year Tulsa office on non-campus days. Due to the travel requirements, a valid Driver's License is required. The salary for this role is $58,000.

Responsibilities

Candidate Outreach and Engagement

  • Develop and execute strategies to engage groups of students and alumni from colleges and universities within your designated portfolio.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus partners, including career services, faculty, and student organizations.
  • Deliver engaging presentations, host tabling events, and participate in career fairs to promote the AmeriCorps member opportunity.

Candidate Cultivation

  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective candidates, nurturing interest in City Year and the AmeriCorps member role.
  • Conduct 1:1 informational meetings and respond to candidate inquiries to provide personalized support and information.
  • Identify high-potential candidates and offer tailored coaching to help them navigate the application and interview process.

Application and Interview Support

  • Guide candidates through the application process, offering clear communication on timelines, expectations, and requirements.
  • Prepare candidates for interviews by conducting mock interviews, sharing best practices, and setting expectations for AmeriCorps service.
  • Engage in candidate interviews year-round to stay informed about candidate experiences and continuously refine the interview process.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient transition of candidates once they are selected for interviews or invited to serve.
  • Support recruitment campaigns, events, and initiatives to amplify City Year’s reach and impact.
  • Provide regular updates to the Recruitment Director, or sites as requested, on recruitment progress, challenges, and insights.

Data and Process Management

  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to assess the effectiveness of outreach efforts and identify areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records in CRM and applicant tracking systems, ensuring timely follow-up and communication.
  • Provide feedback on recruitment strategies to enhance candidate experience and conversion rates.
