Summary

Consulting intern supporting Huron's Global Philanthropy business in developing data-informed philanthropic strategies for higher education, nonprofits, healthcare, and cultural organizations. Interns work on client projects while gaining hands-on experience in relationship building, process design, and strategic implementation.

Key Responsibilities: Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to inform client deliverables, collaborate with internal teams during projects by presenting findings and organizing logistics, and attend client meetings to identify key metrics. Engage with colleagues to develop innovative philanthropic methodologies and support overall project execution.
Skills & Tools: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office products with experience in data analysis and visualization; excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree obtained by May/June 2026 with minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA; interest in global philanthropy sectors including higher education, nonprofits, hospitals, arts and culture. U.S. work authorization required.
Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States (hybrid: 2-3 days/week in office, occasional client site travel less than 15%)
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $20,000 – $28,000 for a summer internship (approximately $48,000 – $67,000 annualized) based on consulting intern position at a major professional services firm in Chicago.

As an Intern, you’ll spend your summer working on a client project with a project team. In addition to client work, you will also get a chance to participate in various team culture initiatives and social events.

Qualifications

Responsibilities may include:

  • Analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and communicating synthesized results to senior internal team members to inform client deliverables 
  • Collaborating with internal team members during projects, including presenting key takeaways, communicating project updates, and organizing overall project logistics 
  • Engaging with colleagues across the industry group to develop innovative and industry-leading methodologies that better serve our clients 
  • Attending regular client meetings to identify and analyze key metrics for both internal and client leadership teams 

Travel & Requirements

  • Ability to work in Chicago office 2-3 days a week
  • Interest in working within Global Philanthropy, including Higher Education institutions, Academic Medical Centers/Hospitals, Non-Profits, Arts & Culture, and Independent Schools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, experience with project prioritization and organization.
  • Ability and willingness and ability to travel occasionally (less than 15% of the time) to client sites 
  • Experience with data analysis and strong experience developing visual depictions of data trend
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong performance in your degree of choice with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Bachelor’s degree obtained by May/June 2026
  • U.S. work authorization required

The compensation for this job is $30/hr. The represents a good faith estimate of the rate that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting.
