StrongMind is seeking a dynamic individual to join our innovative team as a Staff Accountant. As a Staff Accountant you will be fully managing the accounting cycle for many entities and preparing financial reports
Position Summary:
As our Staff Accountant you will be managing the accounting cycle fully for many entities and preparing financial reports.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
- Documents financial transactions by entering account information
- Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information to prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports
- Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
- Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions
- Reconciles bank accounts, credit card accounts and biweekly payroll reports
- Maintains financial security by following internal controls
- Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
- Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
- Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Maintains client confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Maintains and balances Intercompany AR/AP GL accounts weekly and monthly.
- AR ownership of following and collection/AR outstanding from customers and help from departments to collect from customers.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal form
- Maintain a high level of customer service with both internal and external customers
- Maintain a professional code of conduct, including professional language, actions and attire
- Acknowledge and accept direction from company leadership
- Examine data analytically, showing excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills as it relates to continuous improvement
