Role Snapshot

The Campus Planner strategically aligns facility and customer needs with Facilities Management operations while supporting the university's Master Plan through mid-to-long-range planning and capital project development. This role directly impacts campus infrastructure decisions and multi-million dollar facility investments.

Key Responsibilities: Develop campus and facility master plans, conduct long-range facility planning, manage feasibility studies for major renovations and new construction, and coordinate with consultants and state agencies on complex multi-million dollar projects. Assist in organizing capital project programming and ensuring alignment with strategic facilities plans and budgeting processes.
Skills & Tools: Strong strategic planning and project management capabilities, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, and expertise in campus master planning and capital project feasibility analysis. Knowledge of facilities management operations, budgeting processes, and ability to manage external consultants and state agency coordination.
Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in architecture, urban planning, facilities management, or related field, with 5+ years of experience in campus planning, facilities planning, or capital project management. Experience with master planning processes, multi-million dollar project coordination, and state agency management preferred.
Location: In-Person
Compensation: $55K–$75K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

Strategically aligning customer and facility needs into the Facilities Management Operations and Budgeting process while fulfilling the tenets of the Master Plan. Building strong rapport with campus customers and stakeholders. Mid-to-Long-Range planning for individual facilities and designated areas of campus. Reporting to the Director of Facility Planning & Asset Renewal, this position assists in organizing and developing projects and standards for capital project programming and planning in Facilities Management.
Key areas of responsibility include campus/facility master planning, long-range facility planning, development of concepts in response to capital program priorities, programming and feasibility studies for major renovation and new construction projects.
The position responsibilities also include management of consultants and coordination with State Agencies in concept planning studies for complex multi-million dollar facilities and complex analyses in support of the University’s master plan, strategic facilities plans and capital plans.
