Join our team as a Paraprofessional in Special Education, where you'll provide direct support to students with special needs, ensuring a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities: Assist students with special needs in daily activities and academics, implement individualized education plans, and promote an inclusive classroom environment.
Skills: Organizational skills and excellent communication abilities with students, parents, and team members.
Qualifications: Associates of Arts degree or approved Paraprofessional Certification assessment preferred.
Location: Goodyear, Arizona, United States
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $30,000 - $45,000.
Primary duties and responsibilities (Pursuant to current Teacher Expectations and Guidelines):
- Ensure classroom safety standards are met at all times.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs in classroom settings.
- Assist students with daily activities, including academic work, personal care, and social interactions.
- Work under the direction of a certified Special Educator to provide students with 1:1 or small group instruction.
- Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations/modifications as needed.
- Observe and document students' progress and behavior, communicating observations to teachers and parents/guardians.
- Support students during transitions between activities and classes, helping them stay focused and organized.
- Use teaching aids and adaptive equipment to facilitate learning and maximize independence for students.
- Promote inclusion and create a safe and welcoming environment for all students.
- Lead club activities on Fridays
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Training/Employment Requirements:
Associates of Arts or equivalent or approved Paraprofessional Certification assessment
Environmental Conditions: Collaborative open environment, typical office setting
Hours for this role are 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
