The Director of Data Science & Analytics will lead StrongMind's enterprise-wide data strategy and AI initiatives to drive data-informed decision-making and improve educational outcomes across the organization and affiliated non-profit entities.

Key Responsibilities: Design and implement comprehensive data and AI strategies, establish data governance frameworks, build scalable data architecture with ETL/ELT pipelines, develop analytics dashboards and reporting solutions, and collaborate cross-functionally to embed data science and AI capabilities across the organization.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), data analytics tools (Snowflake, Power BI, Tableau), programming languages (Python, SQL, R), AI/ML technologies (TensorFlow, scikit-learn, LangChain), and data orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, Databricks). Strong strategic leadership, data governance expertise, and ability to translate complex datasets into actionable insights.
Qualifications: Extensive experience in data strategy leadership, data governance, and advanced analytics with a strong background in the education or non-profit sector preferred. Advanced degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or related field typically required.

Position Summary

The Director of Data Science & Analytics will lead StrongMind's enterprise-wide data strategy and analytics capabilities, playing a pivotal role in driving data-informed decision-making across StrongMind, Primavera Online Charter School, and Verano Learning Partners' affiliated non-profit organizations. This strategic leader will harness the power of data and artificial intelligence (AI) to foster innovation, improve educational outcomes, and empower business transformation.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Design and implement a comprehensive data and AI strategy aligned with StrongMind's educational mission and business objectives.
  • Partner with cross-functional executives to integrate data science and AI into decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Translate complex educational and operational datasets into actionable insights that drive value and efficiency.
  • Establish and lead data governance frameworks, in collaboration with C-Suite leadership, to ensure data quality, compliance, and security.

Data Infrastructure & Architecture

  • Provide hands-on leadership in building and maintaining a modern, scalable data architecture and AI agent infrastructure.
  • Drive seamless integration of data from diverse systems and platforms to create a unified data environment.
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and real-time analytics capabilities that support data-driven operations.
  • Enable AI and machine learning applications through robust data infrastructure and automated workflows.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements from the Arizona Department of Education and the State Board for Charter Schools.
  • Support finance with automated reporting for enrollment, onboarding, retention, and forecasting.
  • Lead development of teacher performance dashboards and key educational metrics.
  • Identify data literacy gaps across the organization and design strategies and tools to address them.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and communication of key metrics across all business and educational entities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a strategic liaison between executive leadership and technical teams to align data and AI initiatives with business goals.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Development, and Product teams to embed analytics and AI into solutions and services.
  • Advise senior leaders on leveraging AI and advanced analytics to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning and project coordination to ensure data and AI capabilities are integrated across departments.
