Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $60,000 - $90,000.
Primary Responsibilities
- Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries in Snowflake to support reporting, ad hoc analysis, and data exploration.
- Develop, maintain, and document BI dashboards and reports using Holistics.
- Own the integrity and quality of the data delivered—conduct regular audits, validations, and troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain DBT models for transformation and quality control in the data pipeline.
- Collaborate with business and engineering teams to gather requirements, define KPIs, and deliver reliable reporting solutions.
- Investigate data discrepancies and root causes, propose and implement fixes.
- Design and implement data flows and data models that ensure scalability and consistency across systems.
- Support ad hoc data requests from internal stakeholders in a timely and thorough manner.
- Document processes, logic, and outputs to ensure transparency and maintainability.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with data governance and privacy standards (e.g., FERPA).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
- Advanced SQL skills with demonstrable experience in Snowflake or a similar cloud data warehouse.
- Experience with DBT for data modeling and transformation.
- Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Holistics, Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Experience with modern cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP for data storage, processing, or integration.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to self-start, manage multiple priorities, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Education Technology (EdTech) or K-12 education space.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as FERPA.
- Exposure to modern data stack tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Airflow, DBT, Snowflake, Holistics).
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
