Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Director, School & District Solutions to join our Education Solutions team and own the growth of Teach to One across the New York City metro region. In this role, you will be a key part of a small team, working in partnership with the VP of Business Development, to define and execute a business strategy to grow and expand Teach to One school partners and programs. You will own and drive school, network, and district-level partnerships across the NYC metro region, with responsibility for expanding adoption and impact across schools and systems. This external-facing role leads the full partnership lifecycle, including building and managing a strategic pipeline, structuring and negotiating agreements, closing new partnerships, and growing existing programs. You will lead outreach efforts, build trusted relationships with K-12 leaders, and support the transition from initial commitment to program onboarding, working closely with our Program Success team. In addition, you will identify and support local fundraising opportunities and build relationships with funders.


This role requires deep expertise in the NYC metro K–12 landscape, including school, network and district structures, procurement processes, and familiarity with key stakeholders and community partners. We welcome candidates with experience as senior K–12 system leaders with strong networks and a track record of leading large-scale initiatives, as well as those with experience in complex, district-level sales or partnerships.


Candidates must reside in the New York City metro area and be able to travel to schools and districts across the region as needed. This position reports to the Vice President of Business Development.


WHAT YOU WOULD DO

  • Identify new opportunities for growth, build strategic partnerships and expand the reach of Teach to One offerings.
  • Own and grow a strategic pipeline of school, network and district partnerships across the NYC metro region, identifying and advancing opportunities for expansion.
  • Develop and manage a strategic pipeline through targeted outreach, relationship building, and market insight, leading opportunities from initial engagement through close.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to academic leaders, aligning Teach to One solutions with instructional priorities and student outcomes.
  • Support the development of sales forecasts and targets, ensuring they are met or exceeded.
  • Understand market trends, competitor landscapes and customer needs to inform sales & business development strategies.
  • Drive the sales process to ensure a seamless experience for potential K-12 partners from initial contact through implementation.
  • Identify local funding opportunities to support initial sales efforts, bringing together funders and customers in successful new deals.
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with existing school partners to renew and expand partnerships across the territory.
  • Engage in high-level conversations with decision-makers at the local, state, and national levels to promote Teach to One math programs.
  • Cooperatively develop and manage large-scale implementation, including district or network-level partnerships.
  • Work closely with our Marketing, Program Success and Product Management teams to amplify the voice of the customer and influence program and product strategies.
  • Travel: This role may require up to 10% travel outside of the NYC metropolitan region.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 8+ years of experience in consultative, enterprise-level sales, partnerships, or senior leadership roles within K–12 education, including edtech, curriculum organizations, or school, network, and district systems.
  • Proven experience crafting and implementing successful sales and business development strategies in K-12 education.
  • Deep knowledge of the education landscape and personalized learning models.
  • A strong understanding of education sector dynamics, including the behaviors and mindsets of K-12 leaders, teachers, funders, and policymakers.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trustworthy, successful relationships with education leaders and funders.
  • A passion for innovative, personalized competency-based learning models which translates into compelling communication.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills; comfort with and ability to quickly learn and effectively demonstrate technology products; and experience with CRM software, with Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Strong existing network within NYC metro K–12 systems, including district, network and school leadership, with a deep understanding of the local education landscape.


ROLE CLASSIFICATION AND BENEFITS

This role is remote, full-time, and includes benefits such as rich medical, dental, and vision insurance, 41 paid days off per year (prorated for the period in which you work), paid parental leave, a professional development budget and a quarterly cell phone subsidy.


The hiring salary range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000 and will be commensurate with experience.


New Classrooms is a fully remote organization. All employees work from home, and occasionally travel for in-person get-togethers and off-sites.
