Summary

The District Manager for the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Region will support independent and house sales consultants in selling Benchmark Education's literacy and language resources. This role combines sales enablement, customer relationship management, and strategic support to drive revenue growth across the region.

Key Responsibilities: Provide training and coaching to sales representatives, identify and pursue sales opportunities, call on customers, monitor lead follow-up, develop sales strategies and proposals, support exhibit planning and execution, track opportunities using NetSuite, and handle custom orders and renewals. Additional responsibilities include inventory forecasting, cost proposals, and implementing inside sales strategies.
Skills & Tools: Strong sales management, coaching, and communication skills with ability to develop sales strategies and proposals. Proficiency with CRM systems (NetSuite), customer relationship management, and event planning; demonstrated ability to multitask and manage multiple sales representatives across a large geographic region.
Qualifications: Experience in sales management, educational publishing, or B2B sales is strongly preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in sales, business development, or related field required.
Location: Remote from New Hampshire, United States
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $65,000 – $95,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

Job Description

Position Purpose: The District Manager will provide support to independent and house Educational Sales Consultants including training, meeting with customers, and responding to requests for information and materials so that they can

effectively represent and sell Benchmark Education/Newmark Learning products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with assigned Independent and/or House Sales Reps in the East Region to identify sales opportunities; assist with training; call on customers; facilitate and support their sales efforts; evaluate assigned reps’ performance and determine whether contracts should be renewed for Independent Reps; identify and provide special support needed to increase sales; provide guidance for custom sales; participate in development of sales strategies, samplers, promotions and proposal writing; monitor follow up for priority leads; assist with cost proposals and customer service needs such as custom orders, special delivery instructions, and renewals.
  • Provide sales sampling, and inventory forecasts as requested by the Regional Vice President and the National Sales Manager.
  • Support and help implement an Inside Sales strategy.
  • Participate in planning and execution of Invitationals, Presentations, and Trainings.
  • Work with the Regional Vice President and the Exhibits Manager to plan and staff national, state, and local exhibits keeping within the budget; attend national and regional exhibits (state/local exhibits at sales reps’ request if special support is needed).
  • Use NetSuite effectively to identify and track opportunities; participate in weekly sales call to report on status of opportunities and trends as requested.
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
