Summary

Manager of Product Infrastructure at Per Scholas will oversee the design, implementation, and management of classroom technology infrastructure across nationwide training centers while coordinating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage classroom infrastructure including systems, networks, hardware, and computers; troubleshoot technical issues; manage network connectivity; provide technical support to instructors and students; create documentation for platforms and processes; manage SaaS applications and accounts lifecycle.
Skills & Tools: Experience in classroom infrastructure management, network configuration, operating systems, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware), project management, helpdesk support, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications: Graduate of Per Scholas Training Program preferred; certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+ preferred; at least 1 year of experience in infrastructure engineering or network administration required.
Location: Hybrid in New York City, New York, United States (50% remote, 75% travel required)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Per Scholas is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in setting up and managing the classroom infrastructure across our nationwide network of training centers. The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the technical infrastructure required to support effective technology training delivery. This role will require a mix of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.. 

This position is considered full-time.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Working with the Director, of Training Infrastructure & Cloud to complete the tasks below

Training Infrastructure 

  • Campus technology deployments and Rack and Stack - set up Perscholas campus lab environments nationwide. 
  • Design, implement, and manage the classroom infrastructure including systems, networks, hardware, and computers across all Per Scholas training centers.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum team to ensure that the technical infrastructure meets the requirements of the training programs.
  • Set up and configure software, tools, and systems needed for effective training delivery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to infrastructure, hardware, and software to minimize disruptions in training.
  • Develop and implement best practices for infrastructure management, security, and maintenance.
  • Manage and monitor network connectivity, ensuring reliable and high-speed internet access.
  • Provide technical support and training to instructors and students as needed.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure that the infrastructure aligns with overall organizational technology goals and standards.
  • Stay current with technology trends and recommend updates and improvements to the infrastructure
  • Support Per Scholas campus infrastructure, both cloud and local 
  • Comfort with basic frontline desktop support activities and a friendly customer service mentality
  • Triage, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate helpdesk tickets and requests

Documentation

  • Create documentation for all new platforms for training 
  • Create Process Documentation for instructors.
  • Information Management Documentation system

System Administrator

  • Managing SaaS business applications such as IONOS, AWS, and Azure 
  • Comfort with basic front-line desktop support activities and a friendly customer service mentality.
  • Triage, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate helpdesk tickets and requests
  • Accounts and access lifecycle management, including onboarding, off-boarding, and team changes
  • Working knowledge of Type I and Type II Virtualization (Hyper V, VMware ESXI) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Asset and license management, including procurement, deployment, and configuration
  • Desire to own the full IT function and build an IT organization that can scale with business over time.
  • Maintenance and enhancement of automation workflows and tooling
  • Help build out an internal knowledge base; allowing team members to self-problem solve
  • Contribute to the implementation of project initiatives

Administrative

  • Participation in staff meetings
  • Monitor Data in Salesforce to adhere to organizational policies 
  • Manage Campuses Windows Environments Nationally
  • manage tickets assigned by the department ticketing system

Technology 

  • Implementation and management of technology initiatives

Required Skill-Set:

  • Solid experience in designing, implementing, and managing classroom infrastructure, including systems, networks, hardware, and software.
  • Proficiency in network configuration, security protocols, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and software applications commonly used in technology training.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and virtualization (e.g., AWS, VMware).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must stay relevant in technology with continuous upskilling and maintaining industry certifications

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO US:

Professional Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of a Per Scholas Training Program
  • Must have been an IA previously
  • Must have obtained all certifications offered in the training course you participated in (does not apply to CodeBridge graduates)
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Cysa+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft MCSA, or equivalent are a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in infrastructure engineering, network administration, or a related field.
  • Experience working in an educational or non-profit environment is preferred
  • Recommended by a Per Scholas Technical Instructor

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range between $65,000/year and $70,000/year, where the difference in salary is typically determined by several factors, including geography in which the selected candidate resides, and alignment with qualifications and experience.
