This Payroll Processing Supervisor position is responsible for executing the full range of payroll processing activities including calculation, preparation, processing, and reconciliation of semi-monthly payroll for Old Dominion University. The role ensures accurate and timely payroll delivery while maintaining compliance with University policies, Commonwealth of Virginia regulations, and federal/state tax laws.
Key Responsibilities: Perform calculation, preparation, processing, and reconciliation of semi-monthly payroll in an accurate and timely manner. Ensure compliance with University policies, Commonwealth of Virginia procedures, federal and state tax laws, garnishment laws, and other applicable regulations.
Skills & Tools: Strong proficiency in payroll processing systems, tax calculation, and accounting software; excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines. Demonstrated ability to manage complex regulatory compliance requirements and communicate effectively with multiple departments.
Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field with 2-4 years of payroll processing experience. Proficiency in payroll software systems and comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations required.
Location: In-Person
Compensation: $50K–$68K/yr (estimated)
Job Description
The primary objective of this position is to perform the full range of payroll processing activities to include calculation, preparation, processing, and reconciliation of the semi-monthly payroll in an accurate and timely manner. While performing these activities one must follow all University policies and procedures, the Commonwealth of Virginia policies, Federal and State tax laws, garnishment laws and other regulations as required.
