Summary

Skills & Tools: Expertise in Figma, user-centric design principles, strong usability and interaction design knowledge, and ability to design accessible interfaces. Effective communication with cross-functional teams and proven track record of designing intuitive, visually polished interfaces across multiple screen sizes.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent experience with 5+ years in product design, UX/UI, or related field. Portfolio demonstrating measurable impact on business and customer metrics with a history of launching responsive designs from concept to completion.
Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington, United States. Relocation support available.

As a Product Designer, you will play a central role in shaping the end-to-end journey of exciting new products in the early education space. This position is ideal for a designer who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys solving complex user problems, and is passionate about crafting thoughtful, accessible experiences. You will design mobile-first, responsive products for families and caregivers and that are guided by a deep understanding of customer needs. These products will spark joy and nurture children’s learning and development, while also empowering families, and ensuring high-quality and equitable outcomes for all students.

As a key member of a newly formed design team, you will drive initiatives from concept to execution by crafting user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and pixel-perfect UI designs. You will report to the director of product design and collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, brand designers, and curriculum designers to ensure products are not only delightful but also effective, scalable, and impactful for our users. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, salaried position.
  • The full salary range for this position in Seattle, WA is $136,000 - $218,000 per year. The upper third of the salary range is typically reserved for employees who have been in the role for multiple years and have demonstrated strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by qualifications and prior experience.
  • This role includes 15 paid days of vacation, 4 days of paid personal time off, 7 paid days of sick (care) time, 9 paid holidays, 5 paid days off for an organization-wide winter break, and additional time off if required by applicable law. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., design, human-computer interaction (HCI)) or equivalent experience
  • Five or more years of experience in product design, UX/UI, or a related field, with a portfolio showcasing contributions to customer experiences that have made a measurable impact on business and customer metrics
  • Proven track record designing intuitive, accessible, and visually polished interfaces across a variety of screen sizes, grounded in strong usability and interaction design principles
  • History of communicating with cross function stakeholders and partners including engineering and product
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions
  • Expertise in Figma, including prototyping and design system management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working on consumer products, particularly in e-commerce, education, or on content platforms
  • History of building and launching responsive, mobile-first products from 0 to 1
  • Experience applying brand principles within digital products and using prototyping tools to explore and validate design solutions
  • Strong storytelling skills to articulate design concepts and user journeys
  • Ability to balance high-quality craft with speed and business impact
  • Proven track record of designing, maintaining, and evolving a scalable design system that supports design quality, consistency, and efficiency across products
