WHAT YOU WILL DO
- As a core team member, you'll be an expert in Linux systems, DNS, DHCP, mail relay, LDAP, RADIUS, and Google Workspace administration, driving the planning, installation, and continuous enhancement of our enterprise services while providing top-tier customer support and collaborating across all of UCAR.
- You'll be a key player in our infrastructure environment, providing expert, on-demand support to users and administrators alike, efficiently resolving issues via our help desk. You enjoy staying current on industry best practices.
- Represents EIP on UCAR-wide committees and acts as an alternate for others if necessary. Works with peers across the organization.
Education & Experience REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field and twelve or more years of progressive, relevant experience.
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience .
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities REQUIRED:
- Expertise in heterogeneous environments, especially Red Hat Linux, with deep knowledge of installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and tuning complex enterprise-class services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, RADIUS, SMTP, Federated Identity, authentication systems).
- Advanced proficiency in system lifecycle management, including security, performance, and vendor relations, coupled with a firm grasp of collaboration and backup solutions.
- Skilled in at least two programming languages (e.g., Perl, Python, PHP) and familiarity with Agile project management.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, from technical teams to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to multitask and collaborate effectively within a team, actively listening to needs and crafting high-level technical solutions.
