Overview

BerryDunn is seeking an ERP Consulting Manager to join our Management and Information Technology Consulting Group (MITG) within our dedicated Higher Education practice. Our higher education practice partnering with colleges, universities, and large university systems nationwide. We guide institutions through ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) implementations and significant administrative transformations by providing strategic guidance, project management, and independent advisory services.

Unlike system implementers, we do not configure or deploy ERP software. Instead, we help our clients plan, manage, and optimize their transformation journeys, aligning technology and process changes with institutional goals and achieving successful outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced ERP Consulting Manager to drive the successful delivery, enhancement, and continuous improvement of our advisory services for ERP transformation in higher education. This role emphasizes service excellence, team leadership, and developing methodologies that consistently add value for clients undergoing complex administrative transformations.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience leading ERP transformation initiatives, providing strategic oversight, managing projects, and developing high-performing teams.

The position can be located physically in any of our office locations in the contiguous U.S. or virtually in the same geographical footprint, depending on your preference and experience. You will report up through our management team to MITG’s principal and practice group leader.

Travel Expectations : Up to 50% travel to client sites may be required at times future to support projects. The specific amount of travel is influenced by project need and location.

You Will

Service Delivery & Client Engagement

• Provide strategic guidance, project management, and independent advisory services for ERP implementation and administrative transformation projects to achieve high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior client leadership, helping them navigate complex decision-making, risk management, and issue resolution.

• Manage multiple client engagements, delivering projects on time, within scope, and within budget.

• Facilitate executive steering committees, governance groups, and cross-functional workshops to drive alignment and strategic decision-making.

• Continuously refine and enhance our ERP transformation methodology to maximize value for clients.

• Support consulting engagements with the full ERP lifecycle: assessment and planning, vendor selection, implementation, and optimization.

• Develop, review, edit, and oversee the development of written deliverables. Deliverables that support the ERP lifecycle such as gap assessments, request for proposals, software requirements, gap-fit analysis, project charters, status reports, and other project documents.

Team Leadership & Development

• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.

• Provide coaching and feedback to support individual team members’ growth and successful project delivery.

• Lead efforts to standardize project management approaches and tools to improve efficiency and consistency across projects.

• Promote a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing within the team.

Continuous Improvement & Service Evolution

• Drive continuous improvement of service delivery frameworks, methodologies, and tools to enhance quality and client outcomes.

• Collaborate with practice leadership to expand and refine advisory offerings, aligning services with market trends and client needs.

• Develop thought leadership and best practices in ERP transformation and higher education administrative modernization.

• Monitor industry trends and evolving technologies to keep our approach innovative and relevant.

Business Development Support

• Support business development efforts, including proposal writing, solution design, networking, and client relationship management.

• Contribute to the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities within the higher education sector.

• 10+ years of professional experience in management or IT consulting, higher education administration, or related fields.

• Proven experience leading multiple ERP transformations (Workday, Oracle Cloud, Ellucian Banner, PeopleSoft) as a program manager, project leader, or independent advisor.

• Strong understanding of higher education business processes (Student, HR, Finance) and administrative systems.

• Demonstrated experience in building and mentoring consulting teams.

• Exceptional project management skills with a proven ability to deliver complex, multi-year initiatives.

• Excellent client relationship management and executive communication skills.

• Ability to thrive in a remote work environment with national travel as needed.
