Summary

Mid-level Quality Assurance Analyst responsible for designing, executing, and documenting test cases for web applications. The role involves both manual and automated testing to ensure high-quality software releases and involves collaboration across development and product teams.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain test scenarios and automated scripts, execute manual and automated test cases, identify and document defects in test management tools, and assist in UAT. Monitor test activity progress, report bugs, and work with databases to create and execute test data.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in test automation, API testing (Postman, SoapUI), JIRA and Zephyr test management tools, SQL with ability to write complex queries, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work independently in an agile environment.
Qualifications: Two years of software testing experience with emphasis on web applications and multiple database platforms, plus one year of progressive test automation experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field is preferred.

Job Description

SUMMARY: Mid-Level QA Tester to design, execute, and document test cases for web applications. The role involves manual and automated testing, identifying defects, and collaborating with developers, Dev and QA leads, and product teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Develop and maintain test scenarios, functional test cases and automated scripts for a complex system.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases and report test results.
  • Identify critical business functions and regression test cases for potential automation and future re-use.
  • Translate software functional needs into effective test cases.
  • Contribute to test planning, ensuring coverage across different testing scenarios.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs using test management tools.
  • Adapt in an agile environment with rapidly changing requirements.
  • Technically strong, innovative and providing solutions/guidance to test automation engineers and manual test engineers.
  • Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), working with stakeholders to validate functionality.
  • Monitor and communicate progress of test activities associated with assigned projects and report to management on project: status, risks and critical success factors.
  • Verifies quality standards in tasks carried out (correct loading of bugs, test case execution)
  • Actively find and report bugs.
  • Converse with non-relational and relational databases to query data, create test data, and execute them.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Two (2) years’ experience in software testing with specific emphasis in the web applications environment and multiple database platforms
  • One (1) year of progressive test automation experience

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience working remotely as part of a decentralized Agile team
  • Hands-on experience working with Zephyr and JIRA.
  • Experience with API testing using Postman, SoapUI etc.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and assume full responsibility for delivering projects on time.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), software testing concepts, and test methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team, maintaining strong relationships with peers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong knowledge in relational database, SQL and able to write complex queries.
  • Ability to clear required background check.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

We anticipate the salary range to be $53,944.50 to $158,919.60. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors.  These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
