Summary

Contract position to create and review HR certification exam preparation content, including study guides, instructional slides, and video lectures across HR specializations. Role supports both live training instructors and self-study students preparing for HR certification exams.

Key Responsibilities: Author and edit HR certification content materials in Stage 1, and develop lecture and video production content in Stage 2, covering topics from talent acquisition to compliance and risk management. Contribute expertise across multiple HR domains while maintaining content quality and instructional effectiveness.
Skills & Tools: Subject matter expertise in HR domains with proven technical writing and content development abilities; teaching experience highly desirable for Stage 1 and required for Stage 2, with remote film production experience preferred for video work.
Qualifications: HR certification required; substantial teaching or training experience highly desirable for Stage 1 and mandatory for Stage 2; demonstrated ability to author professional content with portfolio examples available for review.
Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States (contract role with flexible hours, 10-40 hours per week; remote work arrangements likely negotiable)
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $45,000 – $75,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

About the Project

We are expanding our suite of HR exam preparation products to support both instructors delivering live training and self-study students preparing for certification exams.

BenchPrep's team of subject matter experts develops a full range of content, including study guides, instructional slides, video lectures, and live class activities. Our subjects span the HR spectrum—from talent acquisition and global mobility to compliance and risk management.

About this Role

We're seeking experienced HR authors and trainers to contribute in several areas of expertise during two distinct project stages:

  • Stage 1: Content authoring and editorial (HR certification is required, teaching experience is highly desirable)
  • Stage 2: Lecture & video production (teaching experience required; remote film production experience is a plus)

This is a contract position with flexible hours, ranging from 10 to 40 hours per week based on availability.
