Summary

Business Systems Analyst Intern at OCLC working on high-priority projects supporting library technology services. The role combines hands-on BSA training with participation in an innovative AI capstone project during a 12-week summer internship.

Key Responsibilities: Elicit and document technical requirements from product specifications, engage with design teams on usability needs, facilitate story card refinement with development and QA teams, and perform current state analysis of business systems. Participate in an AI capstone project exploring innovative solutions aligned with OCLC's AI strategy.
Skills & Tools: Exceptional communication, teamwork, and influencing skills with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Experience with AI technologies, Agile methodologies, and technical requirements documentation required.
Qualifications: Currently enrolled in college with at least one year of completed coursework and demonstrated interest in technology and software development. Practical experience with AI technologies through projects or coursework preferred.
Location: Dublin, Ohio, United States (Hybrid: 3 days on-site, May 19 – August 8)
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $18.00 – $22.00/hour based on title, seniority, and location.

This internship is anything but ordinary. If that’s what you’re looking for, keep reading. We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst Intern to join our team from May 19 to August 8. This is a full-time role during our summer hours, offering a hybrid work environment with three days in-office at our headquarters in Dublin, Ohio.


As a BSA intern, you’ll follow the Associate/Junior BSA training plan, working closely with Senior and Lead BSAs on a high-priority project at OCLC. You'll also participate in a dynamic AI capstone project, exploring innovative solutions and contributing to our AI strategy. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience and make a meaningful impact!

Responsibilities:

  • Elicit and document detailed technical requirements from Product high level requirements and use cases.
  • Engages with XD team to incorporate usability and user interface needs when designing applications and feature enhancements.
  • Facilitate story card refinement with development teams, QA and Product.
  • Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications, data and functions as available.
  • Answer questions and clarify requirements for projects and enhancements during the software delivery process.
  • Be a positive role model for the function, be an advocator for company policy, be enthusiastic about proving the value of the BSA role at OCLC.
  • Demonstrate an Agile BSA mindset to streamline process and produce fit for purpose documentation.
  • Participate in a dynamic AI capstone project, exploring innovative solutions and contributing to our AI strategy.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in college with at least one year of completed coursework.
  • An interest in technology and software development.
  • Experience with AI technologies, including practical application in projects or coursework.
  • Exceptional communication, teamwork and influencing skills that foster a collaborative and continuous-improvement environment.
  • Strong critical / analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High energy level, adaptive and a strong team player with a good work ethic.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
