JOB SUMMARY:
The National FFA Organization is seeking applications from qualified individuals interested internship at the National FFA Center in Indianapolis, IN. The position will start June 2, 2026 and end November 5, 2026. This is a paid internship.
The Convention and Events Management team is looking for an Intern with event planning experience to assist with planning, logistics, and execution of the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo.
The National FFA convention & Expo will take place in Indianapolis, IN, Oct. 21 – 24, 2026.
This is an annual event that attracts over 70,000 attendees, including FFA members, teachers, advisors, alumni, exhibitors, sponsors, and other stakeholders from across the country. There are more than 300 events during the 4-day convention, hosted across four major venues and 5 event hotels.
The intern will assist the events management team with event orders, logistical planning, and the execution of various areas across several events and programs delivered during the national FFA convention & expo.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Planning and coordination of convention events
- Assist event managers with event plan reports and preparations
- Assist with event phone calls
- Attend and participate in committee meetings
- Organize materials and supplies for divisions, the event’s team and shipping
- Be able and willing to lift up to 30 pounds
- Work in a hybrid work week which includes Tues-Wed-Thursday in office work.
- Available to work in person at the National FFA Center for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Expected to attend the national FFA convention & expo, including move-in and move-out, October 18 – 24, 2026 (hotel accommodations and meals are provided during the convention week. Must stay and be on-site during this week.)
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION:
- Currently enrolled or a recent graduate in post-secondary studies. Areas of preferred study include tourism & hospitality, convention, meeting and special event planning.
EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of event management systems, design software, and previous experiences in event planning & logistics is a plus. Participation in professional organizations such as MPI, PCMA, etc. a plus.
