Summary
The Assistant Director of Payroll oversees the College's Payroll Department and serves as liaison between Payroll, Accounting, Human Resources, and external agencies on salary and benefits matters. This role ensures the integrity and accuracy of payroll processing for the institution.
Key Responsibilities: Supervises payroll department staff, manages and maintains payroll financial systems, coordinates projects and departmental policies, and develops audit reports with IT. Serves as liaison between college departments, vendors, government agencies, and external organizations on payroll-related issues.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft applications and payroll financial systems, knowledge of federal and state wage and benefits laws and regulations, staff supervision and management abilities, and strong record-keeping and reporting capabilities. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required with at least four years of payroll or related experience, including at least two years of continuous staff supervision or management. Current CCBC employees completing a bachelor's degree within the next year may be considered.

Job Description
The purpose of this class is to assist the Director of Payroll in the oversight of the College's Payroll Department and to act as the liaison between the Payroll Department, Accounting Department, Human Resources Department and external agencies in all salary and fringe benefit related issues.
- Bachelor's degree and four years of experience, including at least two years of continuous staff supervision or management. Knowledge of current federal and state laws and regulations related to employee wages and benefits is required, as is proficiency in Microsoft applications and payroll financial systems. The Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred. Current CCBC employees completing a bachelor's degree within the next year may be considered. Manage and supervise employees of the assigned college division or function.

- Serve as liaison between college departments, vendors, government agencies and/or other external organizations.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of departmental records and reports.
- Assist with the development and administration of departmental policies and procedures.
- Establish, maintain and supervise the payroll financial systems to safeguard and properly maintain the integrity of payroll for the college.
- Assist the Information Technology department in developing ad hoc payroll reports to effectively audit payroll output to contribute to successful payroll processing.
