Summary

Join Elsevier as a Telesales Rep IV to drive revenue growth in the Academic & Government sector by managing a $3M portfolio of accounts, developing strategic sales plans, and identifying new business opportunities through client engagement and relationship building.

Key Responsibilities: Manage and grow revenue for assigned Academic and Government accounts by developing strategic sales plans, identifying key contacts and decision makers, and executing upselling and cross-selling initiatives. Engage with clients daily through phone, Teams, email, and virtual methods to generate demand, open new accounts, and drive overall revenue growth while serving as the primary strategic account owner.
Skills & Tools: B2B sales experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong relationship building and negotiation abilities, results-driven mindset, multitasking, and prioritization capabilities with in-depth product knowledge of research solutions.
Qualifications: Proven B2B sales experience in a relevant industry with familiarity with research solutions and ability to meet sales targets consistently. Fluent in English with ability to engage various levels of stakeholders.

About the Role

You will be responsible for managing, protecting and growing revenue within a territory for Academic and Government accounts. (Within North America & additional accounts in other regions). Upselling and cross-selling to existing accounts, and engaging with new/prospective clients. You'll deliver daily & frequent customer interactions. (Using phone, Teams, email, and other virtual methods). Generating demand, opening new accounts and driving overall revenue growth. You will act as the primary strategic account owner with both the clients and Elsevier stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and targeting revenue growth opportunities within assigned territory and in accounts. Including identifying opportunities to sell Science Direct to new customers.
  • Managing approximately 3-million-dollar book of business.
  • Developing and implementing a detailed, strategic sales plan to demonstrate how to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Identifying key contacts and decision makers within a customer organization. Developing relationships with those contacts to drive additional up-sell and cross-sell initiatives.
  • Collaborating with Solutions Sales Managers and other roles to develop targeted sales plans. Managing the execution of these plans.
  • Engaging with ‘inactive’ accounts within the territory and opening these accounts to drive additional revenue.
  • Owning the relationship with the customer. You are responsible for the overall health and status of both relationships and negotiations of contracts.
  • Demonstrating an in-depth understanding of Elsevier’s Research Solution suite of products. Including the ability to articulate competitors differentiates and our value proposition.

Requirements

  • Have previous B2B sales experience in a relevant industry.
  • Be results-driven and able to meet sales targets consistently.
  • Be an excellent relationship builder, able to engage various levels of stakeholders.
  • Have excellent communication skills and be fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Primary Location Base Pay Range: Home based-Ohio $55,400 - $92,500. Total Target Cash: $85,400 - $142,300. Pay mix between base and variable pay varies based on sales role; please discuss with the recruiter. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
