Togetherhood is seeking local teaching artists to inspire K-12 students through various enrichment programs in Riverdale, NYC. If you enjoy teaching and are passionate about personal development, this opportunity is for you!

Responsibilities: You will create age-appropriate curricula and provide engaging lessons for K-12 students while fostering a positive learning environment.

Skills: Experience teaching children, creativity, strong communication, discipline in classroom management, enthusiasm for education, and adaptability.

Qualifications: Preferred candidates will have experience in teaching or relevant training; those without formal teaching experience may also apply by showcasing their relevant experience.

Location: Riverdale, NY, US

Compensation: $60 - $100 / Hourly

What You'll Do

As a member of our network, you will be matched with opportunities to teach K-12 students at schools, buildings, and communities across New York. These teaching opportunities will be for terms that could last anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 weeks. As an after school instructor, you'll have the following responsibilities:

• Conceive of and create an age-appropriate curriculum for your class
• Create memorable experience for the children in your class to help them grow and develop a passion for your area of expertise
• Consistently arrive at your class on time (or early!), prepared with the lesson plan for the day
• Help children understand why the subject of the class is so wonderful and how it's helped shape you as a person

Who You Are

A fun, enthusiastic, adaptable instructor, with experience teaching school age children, and who:

• Has excitement, joy, and passion for both teaching kids and personal development/learning
• Knows how to create a fun, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Brings your own voice and creativity to each class you teach
• Is cooperative, supportive, flexible
• Is dependable, proactive, and thrives when given autonomy … and also appreciates support and clear expectations
