Job Description Summary: Amplify is looking for a User Researcher to support two distinct but interconnected teams: our Entryways & Onboarding team, who works on user-facing experiences like login flows, global navigation, and our educator and student homepages; and our Launch Experience team, who focuses on the technical back-end systems that enable platform access, including licensing and enrollment, entitlements, rostering, and administrator controls and settings. This role will lead and oversee research on a diverse range of user experiences, from highly technical applications to user-facing interfaces and internal tools. In this role, you will work directly with Product, Design, and other research teams to better understand how users interact with our platform and evaluate new features and experiences. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, passionate about building the best possible experience for teachers, students, and administrators, and comfortable context switching between different teams with varying working styles and technical requirements. This role will report to the Director, User Research. Essential Responsibilities: Develop research strategies and conduct end-to-end research focused on improving Amplify products across both user-facing and technical back-end experiences Work collaboratively with other researchers, product managers, designers, and cross-functional partners (i.e., Data Science, Customer Success, Marketing) to identify key research questions, and then scope, plan, and execute research to address those questions/goals Navigate and contribute to different team environments, adapting research approaches to match the varying technical complexity and working styles of the Entryways & Onboarding and Launch Experience teams Recruit and expand a diverse database of teachers, students, and administrators for participation in user research Conduct mixed methods research with educators and students, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, prototype testing, focus groups, and classroom observations Synthesize takeaways from qualitative and quantitative research into actionable insights and communicate them to stakeholders in compelling and creative ways, with particular attention to translating technical system requirements into user needs Continually evolve our processes for organizing user research and testing across multiple Product teams, ensuring appropriate prioritization of projects, and crafting short- and long-term research plans Document and track findings gathered through testing and research so insights can easily be referenced and applied for future projects Serve as an advocate for our users across both technical and user-facing product experiences Of course, this is just a sample of the responsibilities this role will require. Required Qualifications: 2+ years of experience leading end-to-end research at different phases of the product development process Strong technical background with the ability to quickly learn complex systems and translate technical requirements into user research frameworks Experience with various quantitative and qualitative research methods such as discovery research, usability testing, focus groups, field research, interviewing, and surveying Experience analyzing research findings and reporting concise and concrete insights and recommendations Excellent ability to context switch between different teams, working styles, and varying levels of technical complexity Effective communicator and storyteller with the ability to synthesize and present research findings with a user-centric perspective Experience developing processes to organize work across multiple people and teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational skills and constant attention to detail Self-starter who is able to lead multiple projects at a time Dedication to building trusting, successful partnerships with cross-functional partners Interest in education and the edtech industry Preferred Qualifications: Customer relationship management experience Experience conducting research on technical back-end systems, administrative tools, or B2B software platforms Degree or prior experience in education, HCI, technology, design, user research, curriculum content development What we offer: Salary is only one component of the Amplify Total Rewards package, which includes a 401(k) plan, competitive health insurance and mental health options, basic life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and access to best-in-class development programs. The gross salary range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000. This role is eligible to earn an annual discretionary bonus that rewards individual and company performance.
