Key Responsibilities: Deliver didactic and clinical instruction in advanced practice graduate nursing programs, mentor graduate nursing students in year-round courses, and engage in scholarly activities as part of faculty workload.
Skills & Tools: Advanced clinical nursing expertise, family nurse practitioner certification, graduate-level teaching and mentorship capabilities, and research/scholarship competencies in nursing science.
Qualifications: Master's degree in nursing or higher with current Family Nurse Practitioner certification and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) credentials; clinical and/or academic experience in advanced practice nursing.
Location: In-Person
Compensation: $75K–$105K/yr (estimated)

Job Description

The Ellmer School of Nursing at Old Dominion University invites qualified advanced practice registered nurses with certification as a family nurse practitioner to apply for a full-time, 12-month, open rank faculty position in our graduate nursing program to start June 10, 2026. We are building a diverse faculty and searching for a faculty member who will share and contribute to our mission to transform healthcare by:

  • Extending nursing science.
  • Partnering with our global community.
Faculty responsibilities will include didactic and clinical instruction in our advanced practice graduate nursing programs and mentor graduate nursing students. Courses are offered year-round. Participation in scholarship will round out the faculty member’s workload.
