The Peer Community Outreach Facilitator serves as a community liaison and program facilitator for the Tiwahe Tewichaglapi/Family Acceptance Project, supporting 2SLGBTQ+ youth and families on the Pine Ridge Reservation and in Rapid City, SD through culturally adapted programming.

Key Responsibilities: Provide community liaison services and program facilitation, including presenting to students and caregivers, assisting with community events, recruiting participants, and facilitating programming while collecting feedback for program refinement and recommendations.
Skills & Tools: Strong community engagement and cultural competency skills, ability to work with 2SLGBTQ+ populations and families, presentation and facilitation capabilities, and experience with program evaluation and data analysis.

Job Description

The Peer Community Outreach Facilitator serves as a community liaison / program facilitator for Tiwahe Tewichaglapi / Family Acceptance Project happening on the Pine Ridge Reservation and in Rapid City, SD. The Family Acceptance Project seeks to support families in supporting and affirming their 2SLGBTQ+ youth. The person in this position will serve in both community liaison and program facilitator roles. Duties include providing information about the project and connecting it to cultural/spiritual values, giving presentations to students, young adults and caregivers, assisting with feeds and community events, and recruitment and enrollment in research studies. Responsibilities also include facilitating the programming to 2SLGBTQ+ youth, young adults and/or their caregivers; collecting and analyzing feedback from participants; and providing recommendations on program adaptation and refinement to the leadership and program team.
