Summary

Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain automation playbooks and workflows using SOAR platforms, integrate security tools via REST APIs and scripting, participate in code reviews and version control, and document technical solutions for diverse audiences. Support troubleshooting, identify automation opportunities, and contribute to continuous improvement of automation solutions.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting, understanding of SOAR platforms and REST APIs, familiarity with software development best practices, version control (Git), and cloud platforms (AWS). Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in agile environments.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience with 2–3 years in IT, cybersecurity, or related roles. Basic understanding of SOAR platforms, scripting/programming experience, and knowledge of REST APIs and integration concepts required.
Location: Hybrid in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Summary

Join our Automation Engineering team as a SecOps Analyst and help design, build, and maintain automation workflows that drive efficiency and strengthen our cybersecurity operations. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, leverage industry-standard tools, and contribute to impactful improvements across our security processes.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop, test, and maintain automation playbooks and workflows using SOAR platforms (e.g., Cortex XSOAR).
  • Integrate security and non-security tools and third-party services via REST APIs and scripting (Python, Bash) with SOAR.
  • Participate in code reviews, version control (Git), and basic testing to ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify automation opportunities and implement best practices.
  • Document workflows, processes, and technical decisions clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of automation solutions.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (especially AWS: Lambda, S3, IAM, etc).
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience with configuration management (Ansible).
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker).

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2–3 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity, or related roles.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of SOAR platforms (e.g., Cortex XSOAR).
  • Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with software development best practices (version control, code reviews, testing).
  • Understanding of REST APIs and integration concepts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an agile environment.
  • Collaborative, eager to learn, and adaptable to changing priorities.

Each of our roles is assigned a salary range that is informed by multiple sources of market data. We determine individual pay within a given range based on a candidate's prior experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. This approach allows us to offer competitive and equitable salaries that reflect the value and responsibilities of each role at CDW. Salaries are based on a 37.5 -hour workweek, and paid on a bi-weekly payroll schedule.

Pay range: $ 33.34 - $ 46.46 hourly, depending on experience and skill set
