Summary

Senior AI Engineer at CDW responsible for designing, building, and optimizing AI-powered systems and intelligent agents that solve real-world business problems across the enterprise.

Job summary  

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, integrate, and optimize AI-powered systems that enable the next generation of intelligent applications. In this role, you will build scalable AI agents for a wide variety of business user needs while experimenting with cutting-edge models and tools to push the boundaries of what’s possible. 

The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking engineer who thrives on hands-on experimentation with AI models and frameworks, learns quickly, and is naturally curious. You will collaborate closely with product managers, business partners, and platform teams to deliver high-value AI agents that solve real-world problems across the enterprise. 

What you will do:  

Engineering & Development 

  • Design, develop, deploy, and evaluate AI agents and AI workflows. 
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with best practices in security, performance, and accuracy. 

Optimization & Evaluation 

  • Implement frameworks for agent testing, evaluation, and continuous improvement. 
  • Monitor and optimize system performance to meet evolving business needs. 
  • Build pipelines and tooling for efficient deployment and monitoring of AI agents. 

Innovation & Experimentation 

  • Stay at the forefront of AI model and tool innovation, bringing forward experimental approaches to improve solutions. 
  • Rapidly prototype and validate new ideas with stakeholders. 
  • Share insights and emerging best practices across engineering teams. 

Collaboration & Enablement 

  • Partner with Product Managers, AI Engineers, and business units to deliver impactful solutions. 
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans. 
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing, AI-related communications, documentation, and enablement efforts. 

What we expect of you:  

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of software engineering experience, with exposure to AI/ML applications OR 9 years of software engineering experience, with exposure to AI/ML applications 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar. 
  • Strong history of cross-functional collaboration with Product Managers, Engineers, and business units, translating business needs into technical solutions. 
  • Experience integrating AI/ML models and services into production systems. 
  • Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and maintainability. 
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, APIs, cloud environments, and deployment pipelines. 
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies and approaches, with a proven track record of applying a forward-thinking, experimental mindset to solve technical challenges. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience in documenting technical designs, sharing insights, and enabling team knowledge transfer.

Pay range: $106,000 - $146,800 depending on experience and skill set
