Summary

Join Acelero as a Health & Nutrition Coordinator to support early childhood education programs by promoting wellness and nutrition for children and families. This mission-driven role ensures compliance with Head Start and CACFP standards while developing high-quality health and nutrition services.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and evaluate menus, oversee food service operations, monitor nutritional and health data, provide individualized nutrition counseling, coach staff on health assessments, ensure EPSDT compliance, and conduct audits and training on health and nutrition best practices.
Skills & Tools: Strong background in community health or nutrition with knowledge of CACFP guidelines and Head Start standards; demonstrated ability to work with diverse, low-income communities and provide compassionate family-centered support.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Community Health, Child Health, Nutrition, or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Must have CPR and First Aid certification, valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and pass background check and physical exam.
Location: Hybrid in Delaware, United States of America (up to 10% travel)
Compensation: $65,000/year

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Health and Nutrition Coordinator to join our team in promoting the health and wellness of children and families. In this critical role, you will ensure full compliance with Head Start Performance Standards while developing high-quality nutrition services and health supports across our program.

What You’ll Do

As the Health and Nutrition Coordinator, you will:

  • Develop, review, and evaluate menus to meet children’s nutritional and cultural needs.
  • Oversee daily food service operations, including inventory, preparation, compliance with CACFP, and staff supervision.
  • Monitor each child's nutrition and health data, conduct assessments, and manage referrals.
  • Support staff and families with individualized nutrition counseling, chronic health condition management, and health education.
  • Coach health and family services staff to ensure high-quality assessments, documentation, and family-centered care.
  • Ensure compliance with EPSDT health requirements and help families maintain medical and dental homes.
  • Lead health campaigns and wellness initiatives aligned with our mission.
  • Conduct internal audits, prepare for monitoring visits, and provide training to staff on health and nutrition best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Health, Child Health, Nutrition, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in health, community health, and/or nutrition services.
  • Strong knowledge of CACFP guidelines and Head Start health standards.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse, low-income communities.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (travel up to 10%).
  • Background check and physical exam required.

This position earns up to 65,000.00 Annually
