Summary

Sales Representative at Newsela responsible for driving growth by selling engaging reading content to school districts in the SMB market. The role offers the opportunity to own a territory, manage the complete sales lifecycle, and directly impact the adoption of Newsela's products in K-12 classrooms nationwide.

Key Responsibilities: Build and manage relationships with key school district decision-makers, handle pipeline management and forecasting, design lead generation campaigns, and manage sales through the entire lifecycle. Develop expertise in territory funding, state initiatives, demographics, and the K-12 education landscape to inform sales strategy.
Skills & Tools: 2+ years of SaaS sales experience with proven ability to hit or exceed quotas and navigate multiple stakeholders. Strong self-starting capabilities, high-volume transactional sales approach, and the ability to drive sales quickly to close in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications: 2+ years of sales experience in SaaS with demonstrated quota achievement and book of business building. Experience in education or understanding of pedagogy is beneficial.

Compensation: $70,000 – $139,500/year

The role: 

  • As a Sales Representative, SMB you will be part of a regional sales team and the overall face of Newsela in the small-medium business market. 
  • You’ll be responsible for building relationships with key decision makers at the school district level in addition to selling Newsela’s suite of products to bring engaging reading content to districts.
  • In your day to day, you will do everything from pipeline management and forecasting to designing lead generation campaigns and managing sales through the entire lifecycle.
  • You will also become well-versed in your territory’s funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape, which will help inform your overall sales strategy.

Compensation:

  • Base salary: $70,000
  • On-target commission (OTC): $69,500
  • On-target earnings (OTE): $139,500
