Compensation: $30 - $30 / Hourly

What You’ll Do
- Impress the toughest customers around – students – by:
- writing fast front automation tests using frameworks like webdriverIO
- working with accessibility libraries to ensure the code adheres to our standards
- Performing manual device testing with an eye toward accessibility
- Make life better for passionate teachers by:
- improving apps accessibility and reliability by learning about WGAC guidelines
- work closely with product managers to create consistency in our internal documentation
- Learn every day by:
- understanding how to use accessibility platform features (dashboards, scanners, etc)
- working on a cross-functional team
- participating in cross-team share-outs, brownbags, and workshop series
Example Projects You Might Work On
- Infrastructure focus: Build accessibility into dev workflow by setting up tooling (axe linter, axe-core) and reporting through AWS
- Manual testing focus: work with a cross-functional team to test new features with a focus on accessibility
- Device / Performance testing focus: performance testing on a variety of supported devices, use DataDog / Looker to track device and performance metrics
- React / frontend focus: work with team to develop React accessibility standards and guidelines
- Project management focus: Organize accessibility engineering wiki + accessibility metrics gathering / tracking
- Training / Eng Support focus: Assist in creating and leading internal accessibility trainings for engineers; support engineers with accessibility questions
Essential Responsibilities:
- Familiarity with web application development
- Ability to work with a close-knit team and to both give and receive constructive feedback
- Understanding of WCAG guidelines
- Knowledge of Design Systems
- Strong communication skills
Required Qualifications:
- A background in computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures with 0-2 years of work experience.
- Experience with Python, or another object-oriented language and the ability to quickly learn a new language
- Experience with React
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework / Research in Accessibility
- Familiarity with relational databases
- Previous experience in education
- An interest in the education landscape and how to improve it
What we offer:
This role is eligible for participation in a 401(k) plan. The gross hourly rate for this role is $30.00
