Summary

Senior Content Development Specialist at Elsevier Health responsible for developing innovative, competitive content for electronic and print products while managing projects from pre-contract through production to meet market needs and drive product usage.

About the Role:

In this role you will develop competitive, innovative content for new or revised products, focusing on electronic formats and functionality to meet market needs and drive usage. You will also manage assigned projects from pre-contract stage through transmittal to production or vendors, incorporating new processes, e-workflows, and technology. This role also serves as primary contact for authors and subject matter experts throughout the publication process.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand market and customer needs for content in all formats.
  • Develop knowledge of devices and platforms; guide authors in preparing content for maximum benefit to customers.
  • Plan and develop content for electronic and print delivery that meets market needs and increases product market share.
  • Analyze competing products; draft strategy plans for revised and new content; work with content strategists and authors to plan content formats and delivery.
  • Verify submitted manuscripts adhere to vision, plan, and budget; develop and communicate guidelines for writers.
  • Review and prepare content using authoring/content management tools for transmittal to operations or vendors.
  • Consult with operations, vendors, and subject matter experts to create high-quality content for all end products.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with requirements for content to move smoothly through the publishing process.
  • Ability to independently manage e-development and assignments for online or e-book development projects.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Experience with technology, including e-books, tablets, and online tools.
  • Experience managing writers and subject matter experts.
  • Familiarity with acceptable formats for digital text and art.
  • Facility with Word, Excel, and internet research.
  • Knowledge of e-devices and e-content workflows.
  • BA degree in English, e-Learning or related area
