Summary

Develop, optimize, and maintain paid search, shopping, and SEM campaigns across Ascend Learning brands to drive growth in channel performance and revenue impact. Collaborate with paid media managers to execute product marketing plans and deliver measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities: Create and manage Google Ads and Google Merchant Center campaigns, conduct keyword research, write campaign copy, allocate budgets to maximize ROI, and perform A/B testing. Analyze campaign performance data, monitor competitor activity, and provide strategic recommendations to improve campaign effectiveness and KPIs.
Skills & Tools: Expertise in Google Ads, Google Merchant Center, and SEM campaign management with strong data analysis and optimization capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to interpret and visualize data, and proactive problem-solving mindset.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred with 3+ years of hands-on experience creating and managing search, SEM, and e-commerce campaigns. Background in organic social media and/or paid search preferred, with demonstrated ability to assess and optimize campaign performance.
Location: Remote within the United States, or hybrid in Burlington, MA or Leawood, KS
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is $55,000 – $75,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

In this role as a Paid Search Specialist, you will develop, optimize, and maintain paid search, shopping, and other Search Engine Marketing( B )campaigns across Ascend brands to drive growth in channel performance and revenue impact. You will work collaboratively with paid media managers and other paid media specialists in support of product marketing plans and their corresponding paid media plans.

WHERE YOU’LL WORK

This position will work a hybrid schedule from our Burlington, MA or Leawood, KS office location. Remote candidates will be considered within the United States.

HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME

  • Campaign Creation and Setup
  • Interpret briefs and other instructions to develop, optimize, and maintain paid search, shopping, and other SEM campaigns.
  • Research and refine keyword lists, collaborate and align with SEO manager and product marketing manager
  • In collaboration with paid media managers, write campaign copy
  • Campaign Management
  • Allocate and manage budgets to maximize ROI based on paid media plans under direction of paid media managers
  • Provide recommended tactical plans for campaigns to reach brand goals, set up and report results on A/B testing
  • Reporting, Research and Optimization
  • Collect and analyze campaign performance data regularly to provide insightful updates.
  • Proactively upskill and remain informed about the latest trends, tools, and best practices in SEM, providing recommendations of how to increase effectiveness through campaign, platform, or content strategies
  • Collect competitor research and provide analysis and recommendations based on the market 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years hands-on-keyboard experience creating and managing search, SEM campaigns, and e-Commerce campaigns with a focus on Google Ads and Google Merchant Center; additional experience in media buying preferred
  • Background in organic social media and/or paid search preferred
  • Identify new opportunities within assigned campaigns and articulate use case to manager
  • Assess and interpret data to optimize campaigns and make recommendations for campaign improvement
  • Using good judgment, distribute campaign budgets increase ROAS and other KPIs based on changes in campaign, keyword, and copy performance, seasonality, and inventory competition
  • Proactive, results-oriented individual

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Interpret, formulate and visualize data
  • Ability to analyze campaign performance and make data-based decisions for optimization and future recommendations of paid media campaigns
