Summary

The Solutions Engineer at BetterUp serves as a technical architect, designing and delivering tailored enterprise solutions by integrating platform capabilities with customer needs. This role is critical in translating complex technical requirements into scalable, customer-focused implementations.

Key Responsibilities: Lead technical discovery sessions with enterprise stakeholders, build and configure demo environments, and deliver tailored product demonstrations aligned to customer goals. Design scalable solutions, produce Solution Design Blueprints, manage integration specifications, and support seamless handoffs to implementation teams.
Skills & Tools: Strong expertise in Solutions Engineering within enterprise SaaS, proficiency in HRIS systems and API integrations, and exceptional communication abilities for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to translate complexity into clarity and design scalable technical solutions.
Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in a similar Solutions Engineering role with enterprise IT frameworks and strong documentation skills. Experience in enterprise SaaS, security discussions, and client engagement preferred.
Location: Hybrid - United States with office hubs in Austin, Chicago, New York City, San Francisco, and Washington DC (minimum 2 days/week in office); also available in London and Amsterdam for European locations.
Compensation: $129,000 – $203,500/year

We are a hybrid company with a focus on in-person collaboration when necessary. Employees are expected to be available to work from one of our office hubs at least two days per week, or eight days per month. Our US hub locations include: Austin, TX; Chicago, IL; New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; and the Washington, DC metro area. What you’ll do:

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with enterprise stakeholders across IT, InfoSec, HRIS, and more
  • Build and configure demo environments that bring the BetterUp experience to life
  • Deliver high-fidelity, narrative-driven demos tailored to customer goals and buyer personas
  • Serve as the technical point-of-contact throughout the pre-sales cycle, including security, API, and integration conversations
  • Design scalable solutions aligned to platform capabilities, delivery realities, and product roadmap
  • Translate integration needs into clear, technically viable specifications
  • Produce Solution Design Blueprints and drive alignment across Sales, Product, and Customer Success
  • Support seamless handoffs into implementation by clarifying configuration logic and deployment readiness

If you have some or all of the following, please apply:

  • 4+ years in a Solutions Engineering, Pre-Sales, or Technical Consulting role in enterprise SaaS
  • Experience working with HRIS, LMS, SSO, or API-based integrations in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Strong ability to build and deliver tailored product demos that align to real-world business needs
  • Deep understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance in global enterprise contexts
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to create clear, reusable documentation that supports implementation and adoption
  • Comfort advising across feasibility, architecture, and platform configuration tradeoffs
  • Experience gathering and structuring product feedback to inform roadmap conversations

At BetterUp, we compensate our employees fairly for their work. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, residence location, as well as market indicators. The range below is representative of base salary only and does not include equity, sales bonus plans (when applicable) and benefits. This range may be modified in the future.

The base salary range for this role is as follows:

$148,000 - 203,500: New York City and San Francisco

$129,000- 177,100: All other locations
