First Student is immediately seeking a dynamic Sr Location Manager to lead operations at our Homer, AK location. This role provides full-site oversight for transportation services, including day-to-day operations, customer relationships, safety compliance, employee supervision, and financial management. The Location Manager serves as the primary liaison between the company and local school officials, ensuring service excellence, contract compliance, and a strong culture of safety and performance. $100,000 Annual Salary + Bonus Key Responsibilities: Lead daily operations across dispatch, routing, maintenance, safety, and administration. Oversee driver staffing, compliance, and labor relations (union environment). Manage P&L, budgets, financial controls, and KPI performance. Drive safety programs, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance (FMCSA/OSHA). Build strong relationships with school officials, parents, and the community. Recruit, train, and develop location staff while promoting employee engagement. Support charter growth and commercial opportunities in the region. Occasional travel between locations as necessary Qualifications: 5+ years of management experience, preferably in transportation or logistics. Proven leadership in union environments and customer contract management. Strong financial, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational systems (e.g., payroll, routing, fleet software). Commitment to safety and compliance. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
