Summary

Operations Instructional Designer and Trainer at Cigna designs and delivers high-impact learning solutions that drive operational performance and measurable business outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Partner with business leaders and SMEs to identify skill gaps and design effective learning strategies; lead end-to-end development of scalable learning programs including curricula, learning paths, and onboarding solutions; design and maintain high-quality training materials across multiple formats; evaluate training effectiveness and independently manage complex projects.
Skills & Tools: Proficiency in Articulate 360 Suite, Camtasia, and Vyond for content development; strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills; expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and provide constructive feedback on learning content.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 2+ years supporting operational initiatives and 2+ years using instructional design software to develop professional learning content.
Location: United States (Remote)
Compensation: $93,200 – $155,400/year

The Operations Instructional Designer and Trainer works in close partnership with business stakeholders to design, deliver, and measure high‑impact learning solutions that drive operational performance. This Band 4, Advisor, role leads the end‑to‑end development of skills‑first learning programs, ensuring alignment to business priorities, enterprise governance, and measurable performance outcomes.

What you’ll do:
• Partner with business leaders, SMEs, and trainers to identify skill gaps and determine appropriate learning or non‑learning solutions
• Apply adult learning and performance development methodologies to design effective learning strategies that close skill gaps and improve performance
• Lead end‑to‑end development of scalable learning programs, including curricula, learning paths, skills journeys, and onboarding solutions
• Develop and deliver skills‑first learning programs grounded in a strong skills architecture to drive consistent, performance‑based outcomes
• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality training materials and curricula across multiple formats, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, timely delivery, and compliance with enterprise brand and governance standards
• Provide constructive, standards‑based feedback to instructional designers and trainers to ensure consistently high‑quality, polished, client‑facing content
• Define measurable learning objectives and “I can” statements aligned to agreed‑upon outcomes
• Evaluate training effectiveness and performance tools to assess impact and drive continuous improvement
• Independently manage complex training projects end‑to‑end, overseeing intake and execution while proactively communicating progress, risks, timelines, and outcomes with stakeholders.

What you’ll need to do this job:
• High school diploma or GED, required; bachelor’s degree, preferred
• 2+ years of experience supporting operational initiatives, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, required
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and maintain strong attention to detail, required
• 2+ years of experience using instructional or design software to develop professional learning content, required
• Experience using the Articulate 360 Suite, Camtasia, and Vyond to create polished, scalable, and learner‑focused training content in an enterprise environment, strongly preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, required
• Proven project management experience, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication, required
• Proven ability to collaborate with teams, build strong relationships, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, required
• Ability to travel 0-25%, preferred

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 93,200 - 155,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
