Summary

Lead and drive Agile transformation initiatives across a 500-person technology organization at Elsevier, promoting agile maturity and enhancing delivery effectiveness through coaching and cultural change.

Key Responsibilities: Design and implement a scalable transformation roadmap, provide hands-on coaching to delivery teams and leaders at multiple levels, drive cultural mindset shifts, mentor Delivery Managers, and establish agile metrics and visibility practices.
Skills & Tools: Deep knowledge of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) with pragmatic flexibility, strong coaching and facilitation abilities at all levels, excellent communication and influencing skills, and understanding of agile metrics and continuous delivery principles.
Qualifications: Proven track record leading agile transformations in medium to large-scale technology organizations with demonstrated ability to coach teams and leaders. Strong understanding of value stream thinking and continuous delivery principles.

Manager Agile Transformation

Are you seeking an Agile Transformation role to lead, drive and scale Agile maturity?

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic, experienced, and hands-on Agile Transformation Lead to spearhead the uplift of Agile maturity across our 500-person technology organization. This is a highly influential role that works horizontally across multiple delivery teams, product domains, and leadership layers, supporting our Delivery Managers, Product Managers, Engineers, and Executives to adopt better practices that increase flow, alignment, and outcomes.

About the team, as part of the Technology Optimization team, you and your team members will play a critical role in enhancing delivery effectiveness, embedding agile ways of working, and coaching teams and leaders to embrace lean, adaptive, and value-driven practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading Agile Transformation Strategy: Design and implement a scalable transformation roadmap to increase agile maturity across teams, programs, and functions.
  • Coaching at Multiple Levels: Provide hands-on coaching to delivery teams, product managers, and tech leaders, from team-level rituals to portfolio governance.
  • Driving Culture Change: Influence mindset shifts beyond frameworks; foster agility, adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentoring Delivery Managers: Support the uplift of Delivery Managers into agile leaders, enabling them to champion iterative delivery, prioritization, and servant leadership.
  • Improving Practices & Flow: Help teams adopt practical, outcome-focused methods (e.g., Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid models tailored to context).
  • Enabling Measurement & Visibility: Collaborate on defining and using agile metrics to drive insights and decisions.

Required Experience

  • Proven track record leading agile transformations in medium to large-scale technology organizations.
  • Deep knowledge of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) with a pragmatic, flexible mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach teams and leaders at all levels, especially Delivery Managers and Product Managers.
  • Strong understanding of agile metrics, value stream thinking, and continuous delivery principles.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and influencing skills.
