Summary

Focus School Software seeks a dynamic Software Trainer to deliver technical training on their management software both in-person and virtually to educators across various settings. This role is essential to supporting the company's mission of serving an increasing number of school districts nationwide.

Key Responsibilities: Provide in-person and virtual training sessions on Focus software products, develop and update training materials for client and company approval, and facilitate both large and small group training sessions while working independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
Skills & Tools: Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to lead engaging presentations, proficiency with both Office and Mac computers, excellent people skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required or one year of experience in a similar training position within education or technology industry; background in an educational setting is strongly preferred.
Location: Remote position based in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States; travel may be required for on-site demonstrations.
Compensation: $55,000 – $75,000/year

Focus is looking to expand our team by adding a Software Trainer. The Software Trainer will be responsible for providing end users with technical training of our software products both in person and virtually.  As a Software Trainer, you will be expected to work independently, as well as alongside your colleagues, and must be able to work well under pressure to handle a variety of tasks.

Expected Education and Experience

  • 4-year Bachelor’s degree or a year of experience in a similar position within education or a technology-related industry
  • Background in an educational setting is strongly preferred
  • Focus moves fast.You will be expected to hit the ground running, and perform self-start training.

  • Willing to accept constructive criticism that results from training sessions to improve future sessions.
  • Excellent written/grammatical skills, extensive writing involved.
  • Development of electronic and written training materials.
  • Excellent “people skills,” a natural leader with the ability to motivate, facilitate learning, and keep a group’s interest and confidence high.
  • Comfortable facilitating learning during small group activities.
