Summary

Data Governance Analyst at KnowBe4 will support the global leader in Human Risk Management by establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks, policies, and processes to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities: Design and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards; monitor data quality and compliance; collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper data handling, classification, and protection aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Tools: Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data management principles, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.); proficiency with data quality tools and databases; excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field; 2-4 years of experience in data governance, data management, or information technology roles with demonstrated knowledge of data policies and compliance.
Location: Bengaluru, India
Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation for this role is ₹8,00,000 – ₹12,50,000/year based on title, seniority, and location.

The Data Analyst is a part of the Data and Analytics team which focuses on turning data into business value. The individual in this role will conduct full lifecycle data analysis including gathering requirements, wrangling data, building data models, designing visualizations, presenting stories, and has the experience in analytical data warehouses as well as in business intelligence tools. Will work closely with business stakeholders and the data engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to write complex SQL including multi-table joins, grouping and aggregation, common table expressions, and conditional filters
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more data sources and its related business subject
  • Lead one or more departmental data analytics projects from beginning to operationalization

Skills:

  • BS or equivalent plus 3 years experience
  • MS/Ph.D. or equivalent plus no experience
  • Direct experience in data governance, data quality, business analysis, or data stewardship.
  • Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis on data anomalies and develop effective remediation strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) and proper data handling practices.
  • Experience mapping data lineage, maintaining enterprise data catalogs, and documenting data dictionaries.
  • Ability to define, calculate, and continuously monitor data quality KPIs.
  • Advanced skills in gathering requirements, documenting business rules, and translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering directly with Data Stewards to enforce governance processes and ensure clear data ownership.
  • Hands-on technical experience with Snowflake, dbt, and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
  • Professional Certification in Data Management (e.g., CDMP).
  • Previous experience supporting a Data Governance Manager to build or scale a governance framework.
