Compensation: Not provided by employer. Typical compensation ranges for this position are between $120,000 - $180,000.

You will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting the Data Backup and Recovery infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, maintain, and support data backup and recovery solutions across physical, virtual, and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience with business continuity planning and disaster recovery
- Adept at partnering with business teams to identify business continuity and resilience requirements and craft solutions that fully support them
- Automate operational tasks to streamline and enhance the reliability of backup and recovery processes.
- Monitor, manage, and optimize the run state of backup infrastructure, ensuring high availability and rapid recovery.
- Lead and coordinate incident response for data loss or recovery events, minimizing impact and ensuring swift restoration of services.
- Support the full lifecycle of infrastructure—from provisioning to decommissioning—ensuring secure and compliant data handling.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of backup and recovery procedures, leveraging analytics to identify trends and recommend enhancements.
- Document and share knowledge related to backup and recovery best practices, supporting team learning and process excellence.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support production infrastructure and applications.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
Additional Qualifications
Some combination of the following:
- Proven experience in infrastructure operations, with a focus on data backup, recovery, and storage management.
- Strong knowledge of incident and problem management processes.
- Experience with Windows operating systems administration.
- Familiarity with automation/scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Hands-on experience with Veeam Backup & Replication or similar enterprise backup solutions
- Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-based backup strategies.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and their backup/recovery considerations.
- Experience with database administration and recovery (SQL, NoSQL).
