Summary

The Platform Product Director leads strategic development of K-8 edtech assessment and reporting products, overseeing product roadmap, team management, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance educational experiences for millions of users.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain product strategy and roadmap while managing multiple product managers and teams through planning, launch, and post-launch analysis. Collaborate with stakeholders, conduct market research, represent product domains in customer interactions, and work with engineering, UX, and QA teams to ensure products meet specifications and customer needs.
Skills & Tools: Strong product management expertise in K-8 edtech with deep knowledge of assessment and reporting solutions, market trends, and competitive landscape. Excellent presentation, communication, and leadership skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously using Agile development practices.
Qualifications: Minimum 8 years of product management experience in K-8 edtech with understanding of teacher, administrator, and student needs. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; familiarity with 1EdTech specifications and experience with AI/ML preferred.

Position Purpose

The Platform Product Director will champion a multi-year, strategic edtech roadmap, working with stakeholders and users alike to determine and build differentiating products that enhance the teaching and learning experience with robust assessment opportunities and actionable reporting. The Director will have a deep understanding of the product(s) they represent, the edtech market, our customers, and our competition.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop, enhance, maintain and support multiple modules on a platform that is accessed by millions of users with multiple curriculum products

· Help create the product strategy and roadmap, working with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, oversight of market and user research, analyzing the competition and industry trends, and defining a successful product.

· Develop a product vision and strategy for responsible domain areas that is consistent with the company’s overall objectives and strategies, and then translate that into clear and achievable goals for teams to develop quarterly.

· Evaluate growth options for responsible domains, assess new opportunities, and identify challenges and risks.

· Manage multiple product managers and teams and guide them through product planning, on-time launch and product training, and post-launch analysis.

· Represent product domains in customer interactions, including pre-sale opportunities and post-sale escalations, with Tech Support and PD teams, and with key stakeholders and executives.

· Work closely with the Solutions Architects, UI/UX, Scrum Masters, Engineering and QA team members to ensure the product is planned quarterly, built to specification and meets customer needs.

· Help to define and follow robust product development processes and practices, along with other teams in the company.

Job Requirements/Skills and Experience

· Minimum 8 years in product management working in the K-8 edtech space

· An understanding of the needs of teachers, administrators, and students

· Expertise in Assessment & Reporting with proven track record of providing new and innovative solutions with an expertise in Assessment & Reporting

· Knowledge of current ed tech trends and capabilities

· Understanding of market research techniques and product life cycle management

· Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills

· Ability to work effectively and handle multiple projects and teams simultaneously

· Experience with Agile development practices

· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

· Familiar with 1EdTech specifications, including QTI

Preferred Qualifications

· Ability to develop concepts into elegant, customer-centric solutions

· Contributor of solutions to interactive and user experience challenges

· Problem-solver with ability to think out-of-the-box and empathize with users
