Summary

The Senior Associate, Employee Relations & HRBP supports HR operations, employee relations processes, and compliance initiatives while ensuring a positive and legally compliant employee experience. This role partners with HR Business Partners to facilitate investigations, support performance management, and drive HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities: Manage employee relations cases including documentation, investigations, and case tracking while supporting HRBPs in conducting workplace investigations and drafting reports. Assist with performance management processes, coordinate training on HR best practices, and support organizational change initiatives including restructures and policy rollouts.
Skills & Tools: Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, excellent written and verbal communication, and knowledge of employment laws and compliance best practices. Proficiency with HR systems, data analytics tools, and Google Workspace is required.
Qualifications: 3+ years of HR experience with focus on employee relations, performance management, or compliance, plus experience supporting HR investigations and case management. Experience working with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations, ideally in workforce development or education sectors, is preferred.
Location: Remote position based in the United States with no required travel
Compensation: $50,000 – $55,000/year

POSITION TITLE: Associate, People Relations & HRBP

OFFICE: Remote 

REPORTS TO: Senior Director, People Relations & HRBP

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Associate, Employee Relations & HRBP, plays a key role in supporting HR operations, employee relations processes, and compliance initiatives while ensuring a positive and legally compliant employee experience. This role partners closely with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to facilitate investigations, support performance management, and drive HR initiatives aligned with organizational goals.

Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, discretion in handling sensitive matters, and a solid understanding of HR compliance and employee relations best practicesExperience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization, particularly in the workforce development or education sectors, is a plus.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Employee Relations & Compliance Support

  • Assist in the management of employee relations cases, including documentation, investigations, and case tracking.
  • Support HRBPs in conducting workplace investigations, gathering evidence, and drafting reports.
  • Provide compliance updates and track policy changes to ensure HR policies comply with federal, state, and local labor laws.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records related to investigations, disciplinary actions, and policy violations.
  • Identify trends in employee relations cases and report insights to the HR leadership team for proactive interventions.

Performance Management & HRBP Support

  • Assist HRBPs in tracking and facilitating Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and other corrective action processes.
  • Provide administrative support to managers through assisting with documentation, feedback processes, and performance conversations.
  • Partner with HRBPs on initiatives to enhance leadership effectiveness and team development strategies.
  • Assist in coordinating training and resources for managers on HR best practices, compliance, and performance management.

HR Operations & Process Improvement

  • Support the HRBP team in executing organizational change initiatives, including restructures, policy rollouts, and workforce planning.
  • Manage HR documentation and case tracking systems to ensure compliance and process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the HRIS team to maintain accurate employee relations and performance management data.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and policies.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Experience & Knowledge

  • 3+ years of HR experience, with a focus on employee relations, performance management, or compliance.
  • Experience supporting HR investigations, documentation, and case management.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, workplace regulations, and compliance best practices.
  • Experience working with HR systems and data analytics tools.
  • Previous experience using Google Workspace is preferred.
  • Experience with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations is a plus, ideally in workforce development, education, or social impact sectors.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in handling sensitive matters.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical skills to track trends and provide data-informed recommendations.

Ability to work cross-functionally with HRBPs, ER, Legal, and Compliance teams.

For this role specifically, we are targeting a salary range of $50,000 - $55,000. The salary difference is typically determined by several factors, including the selected candidate's geography and alignment with qualifications and experience.
